  • Working on PhD in Sociology exploring home education in the UK - looking specifically at why families choose to home educate their children and how home-based education occurs.
    • The study will be a small-scale qualitative study, I am hoping to involve children as well as adults in the research process.

I am part of a team organising Work in Progress: Research Spaces, Research Journeys, a post-graduate conference at the University of Warwick on 1st December
September 2007:
I presented 2 papers at the European Conference for Educational Research (ECER) in Ghent, Belgium - Home Education Research: Cultural, Theoretical and Methodological Challenges (PDF, 48KB), the other paper was on parents and private education and has been submitted for publication.

June 2007:
I presented a paper on parents and private education at an Education Conference at Leicester University
Dec. 2006:
School Communities, Institutional Structures and the Negotiation of Transitions: the identities of sixth form girls in the UK (PDF, 169KB) - paper presented as part of the Identities Conference at the University of Warwick
